  • Duraflex heats very quickly. Overheating creates an undesirable tacky surface.
  • Apply 3 coats of cellulose acetate or a PVA bag over Duraflex surface to prevent undesired adhesion.
  • Duraflex is a soft, semi transparent, pliable thermoplastic used as an “Inner Boot” for pediatric and diabetic applications.
  • This material is used in Orthotic and Prosthetic applications when durability and flexibility is required. As its name indicates the material is very durable and flexible.
  • Available in 3/32” (2.25 mm), 1/8” (3mm), 3/16” (6mm), 3/8” (9mm), ½” (12mm)
  • Optimal results can be achieved by forming over bare, warm, moist casts. Duraflex is clearer than similar materials available & does not yellow as readily as many do.
  • Adheres extremely well to itself when hot & also adheres well to most thermoplastics formed over the cooled material.
  • A properly formed seam is virtually impossible to pull apart without creating extensive damage to the material. Trim and buff formed seam edges to the liner’s exterior surface. This allows for a more even wall thickness profile throughout the flexible liner.
  • Use as a negative mold for urethane pours ups. Urethane does not adhere well to Duraflex™.
